Papers, Please is a thought-provoking simulation game that puts you in the shoes of an immigration officer in the fictional country of Arstotzka. Tasked with reviewing and approving or denying entry to various individuals, you must meticulously examine their documents for any discrepancies or inconsistencies, all while balancing the needs of your own family and the responsibilities of your job. As the game progresses, moral dilemmas arise, and your decisions can have far-reaching consequences on the lives of those seeking entry into the country. Your job as immigration inspector is to control the flow of people entering the Arstotzkan side of Grestin from Kolechia. Among the throngs of immigrants and visitors looking for work are hidden smugglers, spies, and terrorists. Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission’s primitive inspect, search, and fingerprint systems you must decide who can enter Arstotzka and who will be turned away or arrested.
